Our Philanthropy
As a chapter, we strive to raise money and awareness for women's heart health. We all know women’s heart health is particularly more difficult to detect than in men. We know that 1 out of every 3 women will die from this disease. That’s roughly 1 woman every single minute. Just think about that for a second – Half a million American women each year – women who are mothers, sisters, aunts, friends. We hold at least two philanthropy events a year, one being the Red Dress Gala each spring. We spend the rest of the year advocating and growing awareness for this terrible disease.

Alpha Phi became one of the first women's fraternities to establish a Foundation in 1956. The Foundation "was created as a trust agreement to award scholarships and promote cardiac aid." The Foundation holds true to this original priority today through the five vital programs, including holding leadership training and programming, awarding scholarships to Alpha Phis, investing in women's heart health, aiding members through the Forget Me Not Grant, and preserving the heritage of the fraternity.
